Structure and Activities

PBK in South­ern Cal­i­for­nia is gov­erned by a body of offi­cers and councilors and has approx­i­mately 1,000 active members.  By spon­soring intellectual and cultural events for its members each year, PBK Alpha Asso­ci­a­tion has pro­vided fel­low­ship, intel­lec­tual stim­u­la­tion, and sup­port for the lib­eral arts in higher edu­ca­tion.

While over the years South­ern Cal­i­for­nia Phi Beta Kappa mem­bers have found keen sat­is­fac­tion from these oppor­tu­ni­ties for friend­ship, intel­lec­tual stim­u­la­tion, and sup­port of lib­eral arts edu­ca­tion, pos­si­bly the great­est reward has come from their fund­ing of schol­ar­ship pro­grams in our communities.

Alpha Association also pub­lishes a yearly newsletter each fall to keep its mem­bers abreast of recent and upcom­ing events and to report on the recip­i­ents of the schol­ar­ships awarded.
